In art, this term, Year Six have been looking at William Turner and David Hockney. We compared their two styles of picture and found tha they are surprisingly similar. (They are both based mainly on the Industrial Revolution.) During our block, we decided to combine their stlyes to create a picture of our own.
To make these collages we had to bring in old, appropriate magazines and newspapers to cut up and re-place on our massive pieces of paper. Some people chose to do steam trains - invented by George Stephenson. Others chose to do a steam boat - invented by Robert Fulton. Someone even chose to do a hot air balloon - invented by Joesph-Michel Montgolfier. Our artwork will be up around school.
